Hello valued friends, partners, and colleagues,
Sometimes the lessons we need arrive in the most unexpected ways. Mine arrived through an escaped hamster, a curious dog, and a search that transformed our entire home.
Last week, my daughter bought a hamster named Mochi. Unfortunately, his cage had openings just large enough for our tiny new family member to escape.
We searched everywhere. As I moved furniture, looked underneath beds, and opened forgotten closets, the search for Mochi became a complete cleaning and organization of our home. I cleared clutter, tackled neglected spaces, and finally completed things I had postponed for far too long.
Still, Mochi was nowhere to be found.
Then, after four days, our crazy Daisy began barking beside the bed at 3:00 in the morning. We immediately knew she had found something.
Sure enough, Daisy had discovered Mochi hiding behind the bed!
Somehow, our little Mochi survived four days away from his cage, food, and water. That miracle deserves a Reflection & Growth post of its own.
Thankfully, he is safe and now happily settled into a secure and suitable new suite for a hamster with his adventurous spirit.
By Sunday evening, I looked around my freshly cleaned home and felt lighter, clearer, and more energized. I actually found myself grateful that Mochi had escaped.
His adventure reminded me of something powerful:
There is a miracle in creating order.
That same weekend, I came across a post about the connection between organization, productivity, wealth, and prosperity. Its message could not have arrived at a more perfect time:
Wealth begins with order, discipline, stewardship, and decisive action long before it appears as money.
Chaos is not always dramatic. Sometimes it is an unfinished project, a postponed decision, an avoided conversation, or a responsibility we keep promising to handle later.
Each one quietly demands a portion of our attention and energy.
A life filled with postponed decisions eventually becomes a warehouse of unfinished business. We begin spending the present managing our past instead of building our future.
My greatest takeaway is this:
Order is not housekeeping. Order is leadership.
The way we manage our space often reflects how we manage our time, priorities, work, money, and responsibilities.
Organization is not about perfection. It is about creating the clarity to use our energy intentionally. Every unresolved responsibility and unnecessary commitment competes for the same energy we need to lead, create, serve, and grow.
True wealth is not only about accumulating more. It is also about needing less, wasting less, and making better use of what we already possess.
Before asking God to multiply our resources and opportunities, perhaps we should ask ourselves:
Am I being a faithful steward of what He has already placed in my hands?
We do not need to transform our entire lives today. We can begin with one lingering obligation.
Clear one space.
Make one decision.
Finish one project.
Every time we create order, we reclaim energy for the future God is calling us to build.
This week, I am declaring:
Before I ask for more, I will faithfully steward what is already in my hands: my space, my time, my priorities, my decisions, my energy, and my money.
Sometimes the miracle we are waiting for begins when we bring order to what we already have.
With love and gratitude,
Luisa
