The Benefits of Meditation

Dear beloved friends, colleagues, and partners,

This week, I want to share something that has truly transformed my life:

The power of meditation.

This year I made a decision:

To make peace my North Star and my emotional home.

With that intention, I committed to meditating every single day.

I must say the impact has been profound.

I’ve always believed in the power of prayer

that is how I speak to God.

However, meditation has become the space where I listen, where I receive, where I allow myself to simply be still.

In that beautiful stillness, I found something I didn’t even realize I was craving:

deep, grounded peace.

What makes this even more powerful is that I tested this practice during one of the busiest months I’ve had in a long time.

March was filled with constant movement, traveling across continents, time zones, and cities, from New York City to Rio de Janeiro, to São Paulo, to Madrid, Seville, and back across multiple destinations in the United States.

Eight trips. Endless transitions. Very little time to pause in 12 days.

However, this was one of the most peaceful and relaxed periods I’ve experienced.

Not because my schedule changed, but because I changed how I showed up to it.

Every morning, I grounded myself through meditation. I anchored my energy before the day could take it.

I also discovered something simple, yet incredibly powerful: bringing a small “home element” with me while traveling, something familiar, like a pillowcase or blanket. It created a sense of comfort and stability, and I can honestly say I experienced some of the best sleep I’ve had in a long time.

There is also science behind meditation. Research from Harvard Medical School shows that meditation helps reduce stress, improve focus, regulate emotions, and increase overall well-being.

However, beyond the science…

What I felt was this:

When you anchor yourself internally,

your external world loses its ability to disrupt you.

This experience reminded me of something powerful:

Peace is not something we find.

It is something we create.

Once you decide that peace is your standard, everything begins to shift.

So this week, I invite you to try something simple:

Take 5 to 10 minutes each day to sit in stillness.

Focus on your breath.

Let your thoughts pass without attachment.

Most importantly, choose one word to anchor your month or your year.

For me, that word is peace.

The transformation I am experiencing…

has been nothing short of extraordinary.

With love and gratitude,

Luisa
