Hello valued friends, partners, and colleagues,Why is Daytona Beach called the World's Most Famous Beach? As I reflect on the incredible four days I spent in Daytona Beach, Florida this past weekend, my heart is filled with gratitude. One thing became abundantly clear throughout this journey: a quote my brother, Miguel Fernando Mendoza, shared years ago when we were hired to create Spanish-language content for Arkansas. He said, "People are places, and places are people, and People are What Make a City Come to Life.”What a beautiful and profound truth. While destinations may be known for their attractions, history, and landmarks, it is the people who truly bring them to life. They are the heartbeat of a community and the reason a place leaves a lasting impression. This trip reminded me that the true magic of any destination is found not only in where you go, but in the people you meet along the way.It also reminded me that the United States is filled with hidden gems. Just an hour from Orlando sits Daytona Beach, a place with a remarkable story, rich history, and endless opportunity.Known as the "World's Most Famous Beach," Daytona Beach is where the Daytona 500 was born and where the roots of stock car racing helped shape the motorsports industry we know today. Its influence on racing history is truly remarkable.Beyond the history, what touched me most were the people. The hugs, smiles, warmth, and genuine desire to make every visitor feel welcome.I saw a destination embracing its future while celebrating its heritage. From one of the country's largest pickleball facilities to dolphin-watching charters and performances by exceptional Grammy-nominated artists, Daytona Beach offers experiences for every kind of traveler. Some moments simply made me smile: watching dogs compete in a surfing competition, standing by the ocean at sunrise, and feeling the energy and joy that filled every experience. Now let me tell you about the food! The Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach served unforgettable tater tots topped with ranch, blue cheese, bacon, and balsamic glaze. The culinary scene, hospitality, and overall visitor experience felt thoughtful, authentic, and welcoming. While many destinations are known for their unique character, Daytona Beach has something special all its own. There is a warmth, friendliness, and welcoming spirit here that can only be described as Daytona Beach Charm, a genuine sense of connection that makes visitors feel at home from the moment they arrive. Most importantly, I was so embraced by the remarkable people of Daytona Beach.Sharing this experience with my dear friends Karen and Nancy, while building new friendships along the way, made it even more meaningful. To leave a destination and hear people say, "You have family here now", is something truly special.Daytona Beach is a destination with so much to offer and tremendous potential as both a tourism and sports destination.I am ready to promote it, support it, and most importantly, return to it.Thank you, Daytona Beach, for the memories, the friendships, and the reminder that the true heart of every destination is its people.Daytona Beach, I leave a little piece of my heart with you, and I look forward to returning soon. ❤️With love and gratitude,Luisa
