Dear valued friends, colleagues and industry partners,
This week, I want to talk about releasing irritation and choosing calm, especially with those we love most.
Because if we’re honest, we often extend the most patience to the outside world… and the least to the people closest to our hearts.
A stranger receives our kindness.
A colleague receives our professionalism.
But at home, with a parent, a spouse, or a child…
our patience can wear thin.
Why is that?
How is it that we can show up with such grace for others, yet struggle to offer that same peace to those who love us unconditionally?
If I am choosing peace as my anchor, then I must become aware of where my patience breaks.
I must look closely at my relationships and ask:
Where do I allow irritation to replace love?
Let’s be real.
If we were spending time with someone we deeply admire… a celebrity, a role model, someone we look up to… we would show up as our highest self.
Present. Kind. Intentional.
So why don’t we offer that same version of ourselves to the people who matter most?
This week, I invite you to reflect:
Who in your life are you unintentionally taking for granted?
Who deserves more of your patience, your presence, your grace?
Because the truth is…
tomorrow is not promised.
If today were the last day you had with someone you love,
what would you do differently?
How much more gently would you speak?
How much more fully would you love?
Life is precious, and patience is one of the purest forms of love we can give.
How to Transform Irritation into Sacred Patience
1. Pause before you respond
Create space between the trigger and your reaction.
A deep breath can shift everything.
2. Lead with empathy
Ask yourself: What might they be going through?
Understanding softens frustration.
3. Lower the need to control
Not everything needs to be corrected or fixed.
Peace often lives in acceptance.
4. Remember your intention
If peace is your standard, your response must align with it.
5. Speak with love, not reaction
Tone matters more than words.
Choose calm over being right.
6. Practice gratitude in the moment
Even in irritation, remind yourself:
I am blessed to have this person in my life.
7. Protect your energy
Irritation often comes from depletion.
Rest, boundaries, and self-care create patience.
Final Thought
Patience is not weakness.
It is emotional mastery.
The way you love those closest to you…
is the true reflection of your inner peace.
With love and gratitude,
Luisa
