Hello valued friends, partners, and colleagues,
I find myself reflecting on a lesson that arrived from an unexpected place: a basketball game.
The New York Knicks found themselves down by 29 points in game 4. The odds were against them. Many had already accepted the outcome before the final buzzer sounded. Because no team has ever come back in basketball after being down 29 points.
After the game, Jalen Brunson was asked how on earth did that just happened? His answer was one word that captures it all:
“Believing in each other.”
“Believing in the process.”
“Chipping away one possession at a time.”
It wasn't going to be one play to get us back, it wasn't going to be one momentum play, but it was just hitting singles, getting on base."
Another powerful question followed:
Brunson’s response was a masterclass in leadership:
“You’re allowed to think about the worst-case scenario. But then you have to go out there and do something about it.”
What a lesson for all of us.
What powerful wisdom.
Many people assume growth means never experiencing fear, uncertainty, or doubt. The truth is that growth is not the absence of those feelings. Growth is choosing not to let those feelings define your actions.
Every one of us will face moments when life feels like we’re down by 29 points.
A business challenge.
A financial setback.
A relationship struggle.
A health concern.
A dream that feels farther away than ever before.
Those moments test our character. They test our faith. Most importantly, they test what we BELIEVE..
Do we believe our circumstances are permanent?
Or do we believe there is still a way forward?
Reflection reminds us where we have been.
Growth determines where we go next.
The greatest breakthroughs often begin when we stop focusing on how far we have to go and instead focus on the very next step.
One conversation.
One decision.
One act of courage.
One moment of faith.
One day at a time.
Miracles are rarely created through one dramatic action. More often, they are built through small acts of persistence repeated consistently over time.
As I reflect this week, I am reminded that belief is not pretending challenges do not exist.
Belief is looking directly at the challenge and choosing hope anyway.
Belief is trusting that God is still working, even when we cannot yet see the outcome.
Belief is understanding that setbacks are not the end of the story.
Belief is having the courage to get back in the game.
My encouragement to you today is simple:
If life feels difficult, keep going.
If the path feels uncertain, keep believing.
If doubt visits, acknowledge it, then take action anyway.
Your current situation is not your final destination.
The scoreboard does not determine your future.
As long as there is breath in your lungs, there is purpose in your life.
As long as there is purpose, there is hope.
As long as there is hope, there is the possibility of a miracle.
Keep believing.
Keep growing.
Keep becoming.
With love and gratitude,
Luisa
