Discipline Builds Character

Good day, friends and partners,

This week, I have been reflecting on discipline.

At 4:15 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, my 16 year old daughter woke up to open the store at her new job. She was not waking up for school or friends. She was waking up to work.

Watching her in that quiet moment reminded me of something powerful. Discipline is where character is built.

I grew up watching my parents sacrifice everything. When I became a mother, I promised I would give my daughter more than I had. At the same time, I knew my greatest responsibility was not to raise an entitled child.

When she told me she wanted a car, I said, “That’s wonderful. The first step is getting a job, and she did exactly that.”

There is a fine balance between providing and preparing. Discipline bridges that gap. It teaches responsibility, integrity, resilience, and leadership.

Miracles and breakthroughs do not happen by accident. They happen when we choose to do the hard things, especially when we do not feel like it and when no one is watching.

Three Ways to Strengthen Discipline This Week

1. Do one hard thing daily, even if it is small.

2. Keep the promises you make to yourself.

3. Choose long term growth over short term comfort.

Discipline may seem small in the moment. Over time, it changes everything.

With love and gratitude,

Luisa
