Good day, friends and partners,
As leaders, builders, and connectors across sports, tourism, and every industry you serve, I invite you to begin this week with a pause. A pause rooted in reflection. A pause grounded in gratitude.
No matter the role you carry or the season of life you are walking through, this message is written for you.
I woke up with a heart full of gratitude. Gratitude for the gift of a new day, for breath in my lungs, and for the opportunity to begin again. In a world that moves quickly and often asks more of us than we think we can give, gratitude invites us to slow down, to breathe, and to remember what truly matters.
This reflection felt especially meaningful as I celebrated my birthday on January 18. As I approached that day, I asked myself a simple yet intentional question. Instead of receiving gifts, what is the greatest gift I could offer others?
I reflected on my life and my journey. Faith. Family. Love. Hope. Purpose. Resilience. Each has shaped who I am and how I show up in the world. Yet there is one practice that quietly weaves through all of them, especially during the most challenging moments.
That gift is gratitude.
Gratitude has been the posture that shifted everything. It did not remove challenges, but it changed how I carried them. It steadied me in uncertainty, softened my heart in moments of tension, and reminded me that even in difficulty, there is always something worth acknowledging and something worth holding onto.

I Gratitude is not passive. It is powerful. Research shows it improves sleep, strengthens relationships, and supports mental and physical well being. In our professional lives, it builds trust, strengthens teams, and fosters healthier cultures. In our personal lives, it grounds us, restores perspective, and gently brings us back to the present moment.
I invite you to imagine what it would look like if we practiced gratitude intentionally throughout our day.
What if each morning, before reaching for our phones or rushing into the day, we placed a hand on our heart and simply said thank you for life, for breath, and for another opportunity?
What if, in the middle of busy days filled with responsibilities and expectations, we paused to recognize progress instead of pressure, effort instead of perfection?
What if, in moments of frustration or fatigue, we chose to notice one thing that went right, one person who showed up, and one small win that reminded us we are moving forward?
And what if, at night, instead of replaying what we did not finish or what did not go as planned, we closed the day with gratitude for growth, for lessons learned, and for the simple truth that we made it through another day?
Even when life feels heavy, this remains true. If you are breathing, there is hope. If you are alive, there is possibility. Gratitude does not deny hardship. It grounds us so we can move through it with clarity, strength, and grace.
In some of the most uncertain seasons of my life, gratitude became my anchor. It reminded me that presence is a gift and that progress is possible even when the path ahead is unclear. As long as we are here and continue to show up, there is room for healing, growth, and renewal.
As a birthday offering, this is the gift I choose to share with you. A simple practice with profound impact.
My hope for our global community is intentional and heartfelt. May gratitude be the lens through which we see our days.
May it be the practice that restores our peace and our joy. May it be the daily choice that helps us focus on what matters, trust the journey, and remember that we are not alone.
Let us continue to embrace gratitude with open hearts. May it transform how we live, how we lead, and how we love.
With love and gratitude,
Luisa Mendoza
